Greetings!
Storm Water Installation continues from the Sandusky River north to Bucyrus Community Hospital, with local access being maintained. Work has been delayed going south from Washington Square to Rensselaer Street due to changes needing to be made in the plans. More details about the delay and the project timeline implications.
As we've stated before, and will continue to stress, we are committed to doing our best throughout this project to maintain local traffic access to the downtown business. There will be times that require a shut down of specific areas, but we are working diligently to minimize any local traffic shutdown.
Thank you for your patience during this project. Our hope is that this project will lead to a more prosperous Bucyrus!
Sincerely,
Dan Ross, Mayor
Sid Seevers, Service-Safety Director

The contractor will continue working on Storm Water Installation from the Sandusky River north to Bucyrus Community Hospital during the weeks of September 21st and September 28th. Local traffic access will be maintained during this time. We ask that you exercise extreme caution if driving through this section of the project.
The Storm Water Installation south to Washington Square and through Washington Square to Rensselaer Street has been delayed. The delay is caused by unexpected sewer and water line work in the area just north of Washington Square heading south towards Rensselaer Street. The need to perform this work has required changes to the construction plans, which will delay the project. Once work resumes, a single lane of traffic with flaggers at each end of the work area will be maintained to allow access to the businesses in this section of the downtown.
We, along with the contractor, will do everything we can to maintain local traffic access to downtown businesses in these areas. Safety is of the utmost importance, and is the primary reason for any and all detours around certain sections of the downtown. When a full detour is required, we will have electronic signage at each end of the detour promoting downtown merchants open for business, and the use of alternative entrances to these businesses.
