Greetings!
The ground is broken and the Downtown Revitalization project is under way in the City of Bucyrus!
We would like to thank everyone who attended the Groundbreaking Ceremony on Monday. We had a great crowd on hand to help us kick off the project. As evidenced during the ceremony, the contractors wasted no time beginning the sawcutting task at the corner of N. Sandusky Ave. and Perry St. Several project tasks are continuing throughout the coming weeks. Details are below.
Thank you for your patience during this project. Our hope is that this project will lead to a more prosperous Bucyrus!
Sincerely,
Dan Ross, Mayor
Sid Seevers, Service-Safety Director

The Sawcutting Project Tasks are well under way. These began on Monday (8-3) and will continue for the next couple of weeks. If you've driven through downtown between Mansfield Street and Perry Street, you'll have noticed that every effort is being made to maintain local access to the businesses in this area.
The next big Project Task begins Monday, August 10th, with the Railroad Bore and Storm Sewer Installation. We will detour traffic around the project area. However, the alleys behind the downtown businesses are open and have been opened up to allow for two-way traffic. We ask that if you travel through the alleys that you exercise caution and courtesy to others utilizing the alley ways.

The Railroad Bore & Storm Sewer Installation tasks begin Monday, August 10th, and will continue through August 28th, weather permitting. This portion of the project will require a full detour around the project area for the safety of the workers and the public. Message boards will be in place on both the north and south sides of the task area promoting our local downtown businesses as open! Our goal, with this and other similar tasks, is to maintain local access as much as possible.

The Bucyrus Area Chamber of Commerce has provided a list of employee offstreet parking options for downton businesses. View a letter from Chamber Executive Director Deb Pinion for full details.
Ley's Jewelry will be open regular hours during construction. Please feel free to call to check on anything prior to driving up. Subway has been gracious enough to offer limited short-term parking for Ley's Jewelry customers. Please stay to the back corner as to not interfere with their customers, or better yet, take some subs home with you for supper! Ley's Jewelry, 225 N. Sandusky Ave, 419-562-2736
