Bucyrus Elementary to host Student Music Performances - Nov. 8, 2010
The Bucyrus Elementary Music Department will be hosting several music programs this 2010-2011 school year. All programs will be held at the Bucyrus Elementary School in the auditorium and are free and open to the public. Mandatory Winter Sports Meeting for Parents and Students - Nov. 7, 2010
Any Bucyrus student planning on participating in the upcoming winter sports season must attend a mandatory preseason meeting with a parent or guardian. Bucyrus Elementary Receives 21st Century Grant - Nov. 4, 2010
The Bucyrus Elementary School is very proud of all of the hard work and dedication the teachers bring into their classrooms each and every day, and supports the teachers’ continual search to find innovative ways to engage any student who might be struggling along the way. Bucyrus Secondary School to host "Drama, Divas and Devastation" - Nov. 3, 2010
Helping students build healthy relationships while in school is highly important to the administration and staff of the Bucyrus City School District. In order to support the students in this venture, the District has been pursuing various prevention programs with both fresh and innovative education al and character building activities, in order to get the students talking. Thanks to a new relationship with Sessa Fowler Votaw and Girl Scouts of the USA, the search for such a program is now over, and on Nov. 15, 16, and 17, the sixth, seventh and eighth grade girls of the Bucyrus Secondary School will have the opportunity to experience a program they will never forget. Bucyrus Elementary School Reads for the Record - Nov. 2, 2010
To some, breaking a world record is about more than jumping the Grand Canyon or eating the most hot dogs, it’s about something much more important, kids. Jumpstart, one of the nation’s leading nonprofit organizations in the field of early childhood education, believes it’s vital that the community, as a whole, put a stop to the problem of illiteracy in today’s children. Bucyrus Elementary Stresses Fire Safety - Oct. 27, 2010
The staff at the Bucyrus Elementary School believe a good education includes more than just basic math, English and science. They feel students need to be taught basic safety skills in order to better protect themselves and their families in case of an emergency. The Bucyrus Academic Booster Club and the Touchdown Club invite the community to participate in a fundraising food program called Market Day. For a complete list of items, pick up an order form at either the Secondary School or Elementary School office, or go online to www.marketday.com. Paper order forms must be completed and returned to the school by Friday, Nov. 5. Internet purchases must be placed by 11 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 10, and can be prepaid with a credit or debit card. Bucyrus Booster Club to host Reverse Raffle - Oct. 20, 2010
The Bucyrus High School Booster Club will be holding their annual Reverse Raffle on Saturday, Nov. 13, at the VFW, located at 1325 E. Mansfield Street . The event is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Raffle tickets are $50 a piece with the grand prize of $3,000. Booster Clubs Unite in 2010 - Oct. 4, 2010
For more than 40 years, the Bucyrus Academic Booster Club, the Bucyrus Athletic Booster Club and the Bucyrus Band Booster Club have made great strides to support, both in the way of finances and school spirit, the efforts of the Bucyrus City School District in all aspects of academics, athletics and band events and programs. ACT Test Offered at Bucyrus Secondary School - Sept 21, 2010
Bucyrus students interested in taking the ACT will have several opportunities this 2010-2011 school year. Five dates have been set, allowing students to take the test close to home and in a familiar area, the Bucyrus Secondary School. The next test is scheduled for Oct. 23. Wednesday, August 25, held an enjoyable yet unexpected surprise for the Bucyrus City School District as they proudly brought home two awards at the Inaugural “Best of Crawford County Readers’ Choice Poll” awards banquet, hosted by the Bucyrus Telegraph Forum and the Mansfield News Journal. Teachers To Be Honored at Home Football Game - Sept. 13, 2010
The Bucyrus High School is proud to host the 2010 fall season’s Most Inspirational Teacher Night on Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, before the home football game at 7 p.m. against Riverdale.
