Bucyrus City Schools' Preschool to host Local Veterans - Nov. 10, 2010
The Bucyrus City Preschool will be hosting a Veterans Day program on Thursday, Nov. 11. Local veterans Scott Ruttman, uncle of preschooler Brody Higginbotham, and Alan Young Jr., father of preschooler Addison Young, will visit the students’ classrooms at 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The two men will share basic military information with the children, as well as showcase their military uniforms and medals. Bucyrus Secondary School to participate in HOBY Seminar - Nov. 9, 2010
Have you ever heard the popular saying, “Leaders are born, not made?” The Bucyrus Secondary School administration and staff disagree. They believe students, if given the proper tools, can become great leaders. One tool used time and time again by the school comes by way of a nation-wide leadership program known as the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Seminar or HOBY. Read More...

Bucyrus Secondary School to host Skype Interview during Veterans Assembly - Nov. 8, 2010
The Bucyrus Secondary School is celebrating Veterans Day a little differently this year, adding a non-traditional avenue in which to engage and educate students, while continuing to honor and recognize the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces. The Nov. 11, activities will feature an interactive Skype interview with Bucyrus graduate Tommy Herman, a
current Captain in the United States Army. Skype, “a web application which allows users to make fre e voice calls over the internet,” will allow students to see and hear Captain Herman share his stories, experiences and knowledge in real-time, while serving overseas. Read More...
